Some Cellulite requires more than just a release, but actual Fat Grafting to push the deep dimples out. It is important to note that since I am an active Plastic Surgeon, should you ever need additional procedures, we will discount them. Should you choose the surgical route, this amount will go toward your surgery, effectively handing you a “limited guarantee”.
Of course, no one provider can guarantee perfection or reduction in all cellulite, but at least you can feel comfortable knowing a Plastic Surgeon owns and backs this process!
My staff is highly trained and has had the same procedure done themselves! They know both sides, from the patient to the performer of the procedure and their results are posted on both sites!
For many women with cellulite, wearing shorts or bathing suits can be embarrassing. Characterized by textured lumps and bumps beneath the skin, cellulite naturally affects at least eighty-five percent of all adult women. Despite any pop culture stereotypes to the contrary, even women who are physically fit and trim can still struggle with the appearance of cellulite. While quite a few companies have marketed cellulite treatments over the years, many of these fall short of providing dynamic results.
At the Plastic and Cosmetic Center of South Texas, we offer Cellfina®, a safe and effective alternative.
What is Cellfina®?
Approved by the FDA in 2014, Cellfina® gets rid of cellulite dimples for at least two years and possibly longer with optimal treatment. In addition, this is a minimally-invasive surgical procedure that has low risk for side effects or complications.
The procedure is simple and completion only takes about an hour. First, Dr. Jeneby and our medical team identify twenty to thirty cellulite areas to treat. Next, a local anesthetic is injected to fully numb the area for patient comfort. A device attaches a small suction cup to the skin being treated to stabilize the area and a tiny needle is used to cut the fibrous bands of tissue that hold cellulite together. Without this structural support, the targeted areas are absorbed into the body and disappear.
One Cellfina treatment improves the appearance of cellulite on the thighs and buttocks for five years, according to new data presented by Merz at the Annual Meeting of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) in Phoenix, AZ.
This new data builds upon Cellfina’s duration of effectiveness, which was previously three years – the longest FDA clearance for a cellulite treatment.
Of the patients who completed the five-year follow up, evaluators rated 100 percent of the patients as having noticeable improvement after five years. “With this new five-year data, patients and physicians should feel confident that Cellfina is the right step toward proven, noticeable and lasting results in the improved appearance of cellulite,” says Chestnut Hill, MA-based dermatologist and Cellfina five-year study group member Michael Kaminer, MD, in a news release. “Creams and other cellulite treatments lead to limited patient satisfaction, while Cellfina patients experience enduring results. The study results confirm what we regularly see in practice.”
How Cellfina Works
Am I a Good Candidate for Cellfina®?
During your consultation with Dr. Jeneby and our medical team, we will evaluate multiple factors including your health, medical history, aesthetic goals and more to help you determine whether Cellfina® is the right treatment for you. If appropriate, other treatment alternatives will be discussed
What are the Cellfina Side Effects?
After this procedure, minimal recovery time is required. Possible side effects are mild and include bruising, swelling, slight soreness and slight skin redness where suction cups and needles were applied. These side effects are typically temporary and fade quickly. Although this procedure is fast and well-tolerated, the treated area improves over time. Some women report improvement within one week, although it may take three months for noticeable results to appear. Once the treated cellulite starts disappearing, the skin in the treated area becomes gradually smoother.
